Significant Milestones for Woodville Community Centre

1943
The building was finished to become a new school and replace another school that burnt on this same site.

 

1971
The building was last used as a school & was sold to the community for a community hall.

 

1972
The first Woodville Chicken Barbeque was held by the WCC on Apple Blossom Sunday.

 

1986
The tennis courts were constructed.

 

2000
The main lobby & elevator were built on north side of the hall.

 

2007
The current playground equipment was purchased.

 

2008
The war memorial monument was created and installed.

 

2009 & 2010
Workout equipment was donated to the WCC and the fitness room was started.

 

2011
Woodville received the Nova Scotia Lieutenant Governor’s Community Spirit Award and significant trail work was done on North Mountain.

 

2012
The WCC became emergency comfort station with propane generator, kitchen & upstairs washroom upgrades.

 

2014
The tennis courts were re-surfaced.

 

2015
All new windows, blinds & heat pumps were installed.

 

2016 & 2017
Roofing & exterior painting were done.

 

2018
Building expansion (George’s Room & weight room)

 

2023
Paved parking lot, new rail fence built & attic insulated.

 

2024
We will be holding our 50th Woodville Chicken Barbeque on Apple Blossom Sunday (no BBQ’s in 2020, 21 or 22)
