The Lieutenant Governor’s Community Spirit Award was presented to Woodville, by the Honourable Mayann E. Francis, Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia on July 24, 2011 at the annual Woodville Garden Party. The Lieutenant Governor’s Community Spirit Award was created in 2007 to recognize and celebrate communities throughout Nova Scotia that demonstrate a high level of pride and citizen participation and the community’s unique strengths.
Each Lieutenant Governor’s Community Spirit Award is unique.
The skilled artisans at Nova Scotia Crystal seek to capture the essence of each winning community. For Woodville, it is the spirit of leadership that began so many years ago and it acts as a role model for others within the community.
You will see a large cut through the crystal that represents the continuing leadership. Smaller ones are for the younger generations coming forward to carry on the leadership values they have been taught.
Around the base there are another 40 cuts in honour of the 40th anniversary of the Woodville Chicken Barbeque!
