WOODVILLE, NOVA SCOTIA – With disappointment, the Woodville Community Centre Board of Directors wishes to advise supporters that the 49th Woodville Chicken Barbeque will be postponed until 2022. This difficult decision was made due to the continuing concerns around the potential spread of COVID-19 in our communities and a desire to support the Province of Nova Scotia in promoting social distancing.

The Board of Directors made every effort to come up with a solution that would allow the Barbeque to go forward while keeping both the volunteers and supporters safe. Unfortunately, with the large number of expected supporters we were unable to do so.

The Barbeque is the Communities largest fundraiser that helps pay our monthly bills for heat, lights, insurance and much more. With the Barbeque being cancelled for the second straight year the stress on our finances is showing. If you would like support the Woodville Community Centre, donations are being accepted by Cheque, payable to Woodville Community Centre and mailed to 342 Bligh Road, Woodville NS, B0P 1V0. Alternatively, e-transfers can be sent to treasurer@woodville-kingscounty.ca. Tax receipts can be issued for donations over $20. (A second email needs to be sent to this address with your mailing address if you wish Tax Receipt)

The Woodville Community Centre Board of Directors thanks the 150+ dedicated volunteers who ensure the success of the event every year and thousands of people who support the event. The Board looks forward to welcoming you all to our community in 2022.
